Current Advisory

Know the difference between various weather alerts:

  • WATCH- conditions are favorable for severe weather, tornado or flooding. Be alert for changing weather conditions.
  • WARNING- requires immediate action and is only used when severe weather, tornado or flooding is about to occur.

Remember the 30/30 Lightning Safety Rule: If it takes less than 30 seconds to hear thunder after seeing the flash, lightning is near enough to pose a threat; after the storm ends, wait 30 minutes before resuming outdoor activities.
